I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Far from it. I just muddle along through the fog hoping occasionally to get a glimpse of the big picture. That happened this week. Monday night, while having a glass of a really good single barrel bourbon and watching the news on the local CBS affiliate, the clouds parted and I got an inkling of what was happening.

This evening I flipped on my TV to catch the news, hoping to hear how the Ukrainians were faring under Russian-backed invasion. I also wanted to catch the weather to see how long the cold snap was going to last. The lead story, however, was something else entirely. Something that should have been old news.

It is a strange sort of sexism that denies history. I'll admit that I have not been paying a great deal of attention, but I have gleaned from casually browsing the internet in recent weeks that there has been a great deal of silly outrage and uproar over the recasting of the upcoming American Ghostbuster Sniper reboot with an all-female cast.

"Christian terrorists" is an under-used term

As events unfolded in Paris a week or two ago, the media referred to Islamic terrorists or Islamist terrorists so frequently that the phrase stuck in my mind. I began to ruminate on the attachment of a religion to any other criminals. Have we heard lately of any Hindu terrorists? Or Buddhist terrorists? How about Christian terrorists?
